please dont rip this site

Before you begin, I want you to realize that the best and easiest way to do any serious font / dingbat making is for you to prepare ahead of time and put your font / dingbat on a piece of paper and perfect it there. When competed, you should then scan the font / glyph into a graphics program from which you can further clean it up, then Copy and Paste your font / dingbat into Softy's template layer. In the end, It would mean more work in your preperation, and a lot less work adjusting your points after you have got it into Softy, It would look a lot more professional too.

This is the Scanned graphic I used to create my handwriting in Softy, granted, It's not much but it was only to see if I could create a font from it and to that extent, I had success. This graphic has been reduced in size to about 1/3 the original size

Once I scanned the graphic, I loaded it into Softy as a Template and proceeded to use the crowfeet to move from one letter to the next until all the letters and numbers were completed. I believe this is what Dave Emmett meant when he said one template can make many glyphs. You don't have to do it this way, you can load your glyphs one at a time. If I use the "One-at-a-time" method, I keep Paint Shop Pro open and Copy and Paste between the two programs.
