Frames let you divide the page window into sections that users can scroll separately. For example, if you were reading this page with AOLpress 2.0 or any other browser that supports frames, this page would have a frame on the left with links to let you jump to the main headings of the page in the right frame.
You should download AOLpress 2.0 soon, but you can learn more about frames before that if you like.
